“To use best practices to manage our golf course in an environmentally sustainable manner to the benefit of all of our community”.
The Toukley Golf Club’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and managing and supervisory staff, are deeply aware of, and committed to ensuring, that the Club runs its total business in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
In particular, golf course precautions, preventative procedures and staff training reflect concern for our diverse and unique wetlands environment and the delicate balance necessary to ensure sustainability.
The dedication to retaining our uniqueness as a salt- water and forest haven for an extremely diverse range of water birds, land animals, aquatic life and many other iconic species of bird life including the Club’s wildlife symbol, the Sea Eagle, is supported by our written objectives covering precautions against air, land, water, noise and visual pollution.
The Club’s 5-year operational plan is now being complimented with an environmental 5-year action plan, with environment activities already planned and written for 2011.
All implemented environmental management procedures, systems, actions and projects are entered chronologically into the Environmental and Pollution Control Journal.
This is audited annually for follow-up and modification as required.
