2017 MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sunday 27^TH August saw the completion of the 2017 Mixed Foursomes Championships. David Willett and Yvonne Boardman enhanced their great record by successfully defending the Scratch Champions title with a score of 128 (86/42) for the 27 holes.  The score was a little higher than normal, reflecting the course difficulty. The win gave David and Yvonne their fifth consecutive title. Brent White and Theresa Lonergan were runners up in the scratch with 130. B grade champions were Bruce & Jenny Davidson with 148 to win by three shots over Gordon & Karen Rearden. Kevin Wright and Judy Dind had a great eight shot victory in C grade with a total of 150. Kevin and Judy had won the event previously in 2011 and 2015. Runners up in C grade were Jeff Barton and Janice Knight. The nett events were won by Richie and Lisa Phillips in A grade with an amazing score of nett 103, Col and Sharyn Wood (B- 119 nett) and Anthony and Gail Wills (C- 118 nett).

The CCDGA decided to run their District Mixed Foursomes Championships in conjunction with the Toukley event over the first 18 holes for the second year in a row. The decision proved a huge success with 45 pairs competing in the District event. The winners were as follows:

      Scratch 1^st –Nick Merritt & Melanie Shekky (Breakers) 82 gross                          2^nd– James Denniss & Rhonda Primmer 83 gross                           

            Nett 1^st– Richie & Lisa Phillips 67 nett                                                                    2^nd– Eddie Kirkland & Terri Mastello 70 nett
