Welcome to the July 2021 edition of the Toukley Golf Club monthly Captain’s report.

COVID-19

Due to the current Government lockdown restrictions we are only able to play in groups of 2 for all competition and social play. This has resulted in less available tee times, particularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Unfortunately due to increased demand, some members may miss out on their preferred tee time. Competitions will be run on Mondays for the duration of the lockdown to provide additional competition tee times. All social club bookings on Sundays and Mondays have been cancelled for the duration of the lockdown to also free up additional tee time. It should be noted only Toukley Golf Club members are eligible to play in competitions.

All competitions will be run as single Stableford events. There will be no 4B competitions or NTPs. Prize vouchers can be redeemed at the Half-way house and balls may be collected as usual from the Pro shop. Members are advised to make themselves familiar with the current COVID-19 safety plan and Temporary Local Rules of which a copy is available from the Pro Shop and is also posted on the local rules board outside the Pro shop.

Due to the increased numbers of golfers on the course and the adoption of 5 minute tee times it is imperative that members keep up with the pace of play. Rangers are on duty on the golf course to enforce pace of play requirements and also monitor compliance with the COVID safety plan. Members are advised the Ranger is acting with the full authority of the Board and Match Committee. Penalties may be imposed for slow play and non-compliance with the COVID safety plan.

For the duration of the lockdown all events listed in the Toukley annual program have been postponed. The Annual program will be rescheduled and members will be notified at a later date.
