Playing in our members’ competition, Club professional, Robbie Hogan sizzled around Toukley in 10 under par on Friday the 14th July. Playing off his -3 handicap, Robbie scored 43 stableford points to easily win the comp of the day. The round incredibly included 8 under par 28 shots on the first nine (8 birdies!) backed up with further birdies on the 11th and 12th. This meant Robbie was 10 under after 12 holes with a sub-60 final score firmly in his sights. A bogie on the tough 15th followed by his 11th birdie on the 16th and solid pars on 17 and 18 gave Robbie his final score of 10 under par, 62 off the stick.

Our official course records are 66 from professional Mitch Brown in the October 2016 monthly medal round and 68 by amateur Dave Willett in winning the 2012 Toukley Cup. Obviously, scores only count towards the official course records if scored from the back tees with the daily condition being “ play the ball as it lies “ . But after a discussion with our senior professionals and experienced A grade pennant players, Robbie’s round seems to be the lowest ever shot in any 18 hole competition at Toukley. The previous lowest in memory was a 9 under by then trainee pro, Neil Dorsett, many years ago. Congratulations to Robbie and his coaches on his brilliant round!
