Cloudy skies and a welcome breeze were a feature of today’s golf.  Our course is starting to dry out a little and a few more days with the wind blowing should help considerably.  52 players started at 8.30 and although the scores were generally low, we did have a few stand-outs.  Our stars were:-

Well done ladies, the rest of us are very envious!

Just a reminder, on the 9th May we are being joined by 50 ladies from Northbridge.  This will be a 8.30 shotgun start and the sheets will be out next week.  We will attempt to have 2 ladies from Northbridge paired with 2 ladies from our club and there will be a smorgasbord lunch available for $13.  We are hoping that our ladies who have a cart will share with a Northbridge lady.

We will post a separate blog to address the issues with the 9 hole comp.  This will be the guideline for all future play when you play in the 9 hole competition.

Both Pennants teams played on Monday 10th.  Conditions at both courses were still a bit soggy, however Banksia came up with a win but unfortunately Wattle missed out.   Pennants will not be played for the next 2 weeks, but we will have teams for the 1st May posted as soon as possible.  And on the subject of Pennants (or match play generally), if your opponent’s ball accidentally strikes your equipment (i.e. bag, buggy) it is now a 1 shot penalty.  However if someone from the other match (who is not your opponent) hits your equipment, there is no penalty.

We also want to mention that our main sponsor, Community First Credit Union, also deals in travel insurance.  We know that quite a few ladies will be travelling this year, so why not support our sponsor and at least get a quote for your next trip?  Nathan or Kate will be happy to help at Lakehaven.  And please, mention that you are from Toukley Golf Club.

Next week will be 3rd Medal Round and Putting, sheet is now on computer.

Happy golfing……see you next week.
