Well, we were all dreading the worst (no, not more mozzies) and unfortunately it happened.  Although 30 odd brave souls turned up ready to do battle, Mother Nature had other ideas and after a few delays it was decided that the conditions were too dangerous and a postponement was decided as the only safe option.  After much consultation of the Fixture Book it was decided that the only available Tuesday on which to run the second round of the Classic was on the 31st October.  The scheduled Stableford will be moved to October, 10 after the AGM.  Could you please alter your Fixture Books to that effect and let as many of your friends from other clubs know as soon as possible.  All prizes will be held over till then.

We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience but we have done our utmost to ensure that a fair outcome is possible and that safety considerations are taken into account.

Torrential downpours came in continuing waves

All lined up…..and nowhere to go!

Some of our sad golf tragics…..

Not all sad!

And our despondent captain Denise Johnston

Never mind…..there’s always the raffle!

….and a few happy winners were still present

Unfortunately we didn’t get the opportunity to personally wish MARY CHURCH a very happy 90th BIRTHDAY.  Hopefully we can catch up with her soon.  We had a lovely bunch of flowers delivered to her on the Ladies’ behalf.

Ladies, don’t forget the Wyong Classic next Monday…..hopefully they will have better luck!  You can check your times on line or by ringing the pro shop on 43 521 361.

And last but not least, the Pennants ladies will still have their meeting on Thursday morning at 8.30 with 9 holes to follow.
