The Stapleford Round for the 5th District Brooch had a field of 64 players. The weather was amazing, perfect golf conditions! The 12th and 14th holes were terrorised by the crows stealing the golf balls. At least 14 ladies had balls stolen or swooped upon by the crows. It was great to see Sharon Stevenson back to play and we  wish her all the best with her health issues. Helen Boyd also visited for the day from Belmont Club where she now plays. The results of the day were-

An excerpt from KEW COUNTRY CLUB LADIES WEEKLY NEWS

Is golf a dangerous game or what! Last week during a singles knockout match Marilyn W successfully hit a ball out of the hazard on the 8th. Then disaster struck as she slipped and slid down the bank into the muck, sinking down to her waist to become stuck. After futile efforts to help her Trish W sought the help of three ground staff who eventually got her out. She then bravely continued the match squishing her way around the course to lose on the 15th. A great effort Marilyn! Can’t believe the shoes stayed on.’

Hopefully we will get some photos from Kew of this event!

Next week 29/05/18 is the  4th Medal Round /stroke and putting / singles knockout qualifier. Don’t forget to put a Q on your card if you wish to qualify.
