2014 Mixed Foursomes Championships

2014 MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sunday 23^rd November saw the completion of the 2014 Mixed Foursomes Championships. The event was previously scheduled for August, but heavy rain required the event to be postponed. Extreme hot weather was forecast for inland areas, but once again our magnificent coastal location saved the day with the cooling north easterly breeze keeping temperatures below 30 degrees.

David Willett and Yvonne Boardman continued their recent excellent run of form to successfully defend the Scratch Champions title with a great score of 120 for the 27 holes. David was coming of recent wins in the Singles Club Championships and also the Matchplay Championships whilst Yvonne has recently won the CCDGA Champion of Champions and the CCDGA Ladies Week of Golf two day  tournament. Kenton and Annika Boyd were runners up in the scratch with 123. This could be a sign for the future as Annika is only 12 years old!  B grade champions were Max and Gina McKinnon with 140 off the stick whilst the late pairing of Howard McElnea and Jill Fisher proved too strong in C grade with a score of 146.
