The 2015 Men’s’ Matchplay Championships were finalised on Saturday 12th December with Darcy Boyd avenging a narrow loss in the stroke play Championships by defeating James Denniss 2 up in a thrilling match. The draw was thrown into disarray by wet weather in November and all players showed great sportsmanship by fitting in their matches around a busy schedule.

The top eight available players from the October stroke play championships in each grade qualified for the matchplay. In B grade, up and coming junior star, Keegan Phillips overcame the experienced Tom Preston to win a close match 2&1. In C grade, Allan Fallshaw confirmed his pre-tournament favouritism with a convincing finals win over Shayne Fisher.

The A grade victory for Darcy capped off a great year, after some excellent performances in many group one junior events, including a prestigious victory in the Indian Junior Masters.

Congratulations to everyone who played in the Matchplay Championships!
