2016 MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sunday 28TH August saw the completion of the 2016 Mixed Foursomes Championships. David Willett and Yvonne Boardman enhanced their great record by successfully defending the Scratch Champions title with a great score of 114(77/37) for the 27 holes. The score was 9 shots better than last year and one of the lowest 27 hole totals in the Toukley history of Mixed Foursomes. The win gave David and Yvonne their fourth consecutive title. Kenton and Annika Boyd were runners up in the scratch with 123. B grade champions were Max and Gina McKinnon with 141 to win by six shots over Col and Sharyn Wood. Laurie Nicholson made the most of Kevin Wright being unavailable and partnered Judy Dind to a four shot victory in C grade with a total of 148. Kevin and Judy had won the event last year. Runners up in C grade were Will Denniss and Beth Bjorkbom with 152. The nett events were won by Matt Dean and Maz Walton (A- 111 nett), Bruce and Jenny Davidson (B- 116 ¼ nett) and Clem and Sue Payne (C- 118 nett).
Due to lack of interest in their event in recent years, the CCDGA decided to trial running their District Mixed Foursomes Championships in conjunction with the Toukley event over the first 18 holes. The decision proved a huge success with 44 pairs competing in the District event. Toukley provided all the winners as follows:
Scratch 1st –David Willett and Yvonne Boardman 77
2nd-Kenton and Annika Boyd 83
Nett 1st- Will Denniss and Beth Bjorkbom 70 nett
2nd-Richie&Lisa Phillips 72.5 nett
