The weather caused havoc last week but four of Toukley’s Juniors Golfers competed in the rain shortened JNJG Harvey Norman Week of Golf. The event is usually played over 90 Holes at five different golf courses however the event was reduced to 36 Holes with play only possible on the Monday and Friday due to the heavy rain.
Darcy Boyd Beau Willett and Dylan Moore played at Monash Country Club and Pennant Hills Golf Club in the Junior division 15 to 18 Years, whilst Annika Boyd played at Bayview and Muirfield Golf Club’s in the Sub Junior division 12-14 Years.
All players had something to be proud of with Dylan Moore winning the final round daily prize with a 68 nett and Beau Willett shooting a solid round of 75 +4 at Pennant Hills Golf Club.
Darcy led the event for most of the last day along with Nathan Barbieri (North Ryde) and Christopher Fan (Avondale). Darcy turned the front nine in 1 under with Nathan shooting 2 under to draw level, but it was the fast finishing Christopher Fan who shot a 4 under Par 67 to win the overall event 77 and 67 (144) by 1 shot from Darcy.
Darcy won the 17 Years Scratch Age Division with rounds of 74 and 71 (145) whilst Annika took out the 13 Years Girls Nett Championship at Muirfield.
As part of the winning the first major state age event for the year Darcy has qualified to compete in the Bonville Champions Trophy in December.
